Na'vi Costume - Avatar the Movie .
By Michael Bielaczyc

January 4, 2010

So as one should expect, we are having quite a few questions for Na'Vi Costumes from James Cameron's Avatar. We have actually already helped one company make this happen. G4 TV used our Faun ears for a small skit they did with Olivia Munn - Thelma and Louise II- Avatars of Pandora.

The problem with Na'vi ears is that they sit really high on the head and we have no way to do that with our normal styles of ears. We may, if there is enough demand, do a full head silicone mask that looks similar to the Na'vi, but that is only if there is enough demand for the $600 mask.

As for a more economical way, there are two choices. One is to use our Faun Mask and paint it blue with the yellow eyes. I can do the painting here for you, but it will cost extra.

I am also working on a cat nose and brow which would be available in both low cost latex and flexible silicone. I will post updates as I complete the sculpt of that.

Finished the sculpt on the mask. Will be making the mold today and will be in production next week!

Jungle Cat (the official name of the mask) mask finished. Pulled the first prototype from the mold. It is looking good, just need to do a couple of tweaks. Will be available very soon.

I pulled the first silicone Jungle cat mask last night and patched a few blemishes. I painted it up blue and took some photos. Please excuse the rushed job, I did this all myself, in just under an hour, so these were not ideal conditions.

As you can see one of the problems, is our eyes. They are too small. They will always be too small. But, I am pretty happy with the outcome. It does give my face quite a feline look to it. Also pictured are our faun ears.

Just for fun, here is a slightly photoshopped version:

I also pulled out the latex version, but did not have time to put it on and take photos.
